Christy’s Corner: Fall 2014
With summer coming to a close and fall quickly approaching, the school year is upon us and the UCAA could not be more excited!
Kashtan has been very busy this summer dancing at various festivals and weddings, and rehearsing for upcoming performances. Anticipation for their 2015 European Tour with Harmonia is mounting as everyone works hard to make this trip a huge success!
The presence of our Ukrainian culture and heritage on a global level is so important now more than ever and the UCAA is proud to be part of such a journey that will not only be educational and fun, but also eye opening and unforgettable.
On November 1, 2014, the UCAA will be hosting a Silent Auction Masquerade Ball fundraiser at St. Josaphat’s Astrodome in Parma, Ohio. The proceeds of this event will be used to defray the expenses of the 2015 European Tour. The evening will begin at 6pm with a hearty offering of delicious hors’devours. The Silent Auction will take place from 6:30-9:00pm and will include over 50 items to be bid on and purchased. Following the auction, the Masquerade Ball will begin with Harmonia playing until midnight. A cash bar will be serving the entire evening. It will truly be a unique and enjoyable event and we can’t wait to see you there! The Silent Auction Masquerade Ball is open to the entire community, so don’t forget to bring a friend! In addition to joining us for the evening, please consider donating an item for the Silent Auction or making a monetary contribution – see the donation form included in this newsletter! Your attendance and support is so appreciated! For ticket purchase and more information, please visit the Cleveland Self Reliance Federal Credit located at 6108 State Road Parma, Ohio 44134.
As we prepare for another year full of learning, performing and traveling, the UCAA would like to thank Kashtan Artistic Director Diana Prodan and Assistant Artistic Director Jonathan Hejnal for their tireless work with Kashtan. Their dedication is profound. From instructing students, to contracting performances, and every single detail in between – their countless hours of commitment are so appreciated.
We would also like to extend our deepest prayers to our country Ukraine and all of her people who have been and continue to be affected by the ongoing political crisis. We hope and pray for peace, freedom and a vivid future.
The UCAA wishes you a safe and healthy school year. Thank you for your continued support!
